Hit the road about 7am for Rockville, 60 miles away in Western Indiana. It was a nice cool morning. Took a good while to get across town where I left route 40 and joined route 36 which would take me West for the next while across Illinois & Missouri. The day became overcast. When I stopped for a bite to eat at a Hamlet called Graveland the girls who served me said there was no accomodation at Rockville & that I was in for a soaking. Luckily I asked some guys sitting outside & they said there were Motels in that town. Turned out there were three. It didn't rain either.
It started to get hot in the afternoon. On the outskirts of Rockville there was a historic village with original buildings from around the area relocated within this village. I had a look around, It was ok but I've seen better. Rockville had a nice enough wee centre. Some of the towns are starting to have that cowboy western look about their buildings. That evening a storm broke with torrential rain coming down........ but I was inside lookin out!!
