I wake up at 4am. I feel drained. I snooze until 5am and try to eat a bowl of pasta. My stomach feels weird and I can only stomach a few spoonfuls. I lie there trying to wake up, trying to get some energy. I decide to wait until 7am, then 8am. By 9am I decide to stay on in Duschene. There's no point in trying to do only 40-50 miles because of the way the towns are spaced. Its either 90-100 miles or nothing. Today its nothing.
Duschene is only a small town. It doesn't take long to look around. The only reason I break into a sweat is because its so hot. The main street feels busy. There are four lanes with a lot of traffic passing through heading on to Heber city and Salt Lake. Very few motorists stop so you can wait for a number of minutes before getting to cross the street.
I do some postcards and on the way over to the library I pop into the post office to send them. there's an old guy at the counter and I hand the cards to him asking for some stamps. He looks at them.
'Are they for Iceland?' he asks.
'No, They're going to Ireland'.
'As in the U.K?
'Well...... we're beside the U.K. (feck off ya auld dinosaur. So much for the Celtic Tiger)
'Geez, I'm not sure we have a rate for Ireland............ ahh, here it is'
I pay Godzilla and mooch off towards the library. I don't do much for the rest of the day.
